At the Foster Family Village in India, a single mother and her children share a home with foster children from families in crisis. While the children go to school and play together, their mothers learn trades like batik art and weaving.
The village will be the site of a building materials center that produces concrete blocks that are used to build more foster homes in the village. Here, older boys learn construction skills and sell blocks for other community projects. Profits will support operating expenses at the Foster Family Village.
